Island Dragway
Great Meadows, NJ

The annual Wayne T. Magers memorial race at Island Dragway marks the end of the East Coast Gassers season. The points standings are always close with a handful of racers vying for the coveted points champion trophy and jacket. It is also the annual chili cook-off and its revered chili champion award. New Jersey weather is always tricky and the fall is no exception, but unlike last year’s rain out, the weather was seasonal, pleasant, and near perfect for racing!

Beaver Springs remains a favorite track for ECG members. Unlike the US 13 event, the weather was picture-perfect. 19 racers were in attendance and all made it to eliminations.

US 13 Dragway
Delmar, DE

This was ECG’s first race at US 13 Dragway, and it was quite an eventful one at that! Crazy weather and a rare 1:30 AM track curfew—we raced on for what became the longest race day in ECG history, and our first ever race under the lights. Tommy Magers made history, too, as the first ECG racer to take home consecutive weekend championships—on his birthday, no less! Lebanon Valley Dragway
West Lebanon, NY

The third ECG race of the season was a two-day event at Lebanon Valley. Because of its location club attendance is almost always a fun mix of Mid Atlantic and New England members, and that was the case this year again. Saturday featured a 13 car field.

Beaver Springs Dragway
Beaver Springs, PA

It is always great to be back at Beaver Springs Dragway. Not only is it a well-run track, but has the friendliest ownership and staff! We began the day with a 23-car field but ran eliminations with 22 as Pat Kelly broke during qualifying.

New England Dragway
Epping, NH

The East Coast Gassers 2022 season kicked-off with a two day race at New England Dragway in Epping NH. The weather forecast for Saturday was ominous and despite the fact that it did not rain until 3:00PM the track chose to cancel. Sunday weather improved and the race was on!
