2020 Season Wrap-Up
2020 was a challenging year and one many of us would like to forget. We had three Covid 19 cancelled races including the sudden canceling of our much anticipated season-end Wayne Magers memorial race at Island Dragway. The good news is we managed to get four races in and here are the final standings:

A look at the final points standings shows just how tight the competition was for the number one spot. The final race could have easily changed the outcome.
Talking to Ron (and knowing the competitor and sportsman he is) he said he really would have liked to run the last race. Having said that, Ron ended the season with the most points and certainly earned the champion title.

2020 was also a transition year with Jim Wheeler and Bruce Deming taking over the ECG leadership reigns. Kind of a crazy year to do it, but thanks guys for your hard work.
ECG members are a great bunch and the family atmosphere is unique to our club, but when the lights drop they are tough competitors who love to race. When not racing at ECG events they switch from competitors to teammates representing our club. A good example is the fall nostalgia meet at New England Dragway where ECG scored a one-two punch. Don Lord was the winner and Don Fardie was the runner up! Congrats guys and thanks for making us proud!
Bruce is working on arrangements for our annual banquet so stay tuned for an update on that. It is always a blast to reconnect, have a bite, a drink, and do some bench-racing.
